What is Qurbani?
Qurbani, or Udhiyah in Arabic, means sacrifice. The slaughter of an animal – whether it be a goat, a sheep, a cow or a camel – marks an annual Muslim ritual to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail for God.
A quarter of each animal’s meat must be given to those in need.
The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said “A person is not a believer who fills his stomach while his neighbor goes hungry.” (Bukhari).
Qurbani must be given by whom?
A Muslim boy at puberty must perform the Qurbani procedure.
How is a Qurbani volume decided? Is it a cow or a sheep?
1 sheep or goat = 1 Qurban
1 cow = 7 Qurbanis (1 Qurban – 1/7th of the share)
What day will the Qurbani be performed?
It will be on a day of Eid when the slaughter takes place.
You will still be able to perform Qurbani on one of the days of Eid if you give Qurbani on the second or third day of Eid. The animals to be slaughtered have already been purchased by Islamic Relief.
The qurban is conducted according to forecasts. We make necessary modifications and transfer additional funds to the responsible country if necessary. Qurbanis that have already been allocated are, therefore, paid for by donors.

When should we give money for Qurbani?
Whenever possible, it is recommended to give early.
After Eid al-Adha and until Dhu’l-Hijjah 13, the time for offering sacrifices begins. In total, there are four days of sacrifice: Eid-al-Adha, three days after it, and the third day after that.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to eat the meat from the sacrifice that he offered after the Eid prayer as the first thing he ate on Eid.
